Northland is located in the far north of New Zealand’s North Island. Bounded to the west by Tasman Sea and the Pacific Ocean to the east.
Northland consists mainly of rolling hill country. Farming and forestry are two of the regions main industries. The famous Bay of Islands is located in this regions and is a popular place for fishingand sailing.
Tourist attractions include Mount Maunganui, Tongariro National Park, the beautiful Ninety Mile Beach and the Kaipara Harbour to the south.
The Maori culture is still very much alive in this region and is expressed through art, creativity, organic farming and alternative thinking.
