About
I am heading back to uni this year to finish a long-coveted Masters in Visual Arts after raising a family. However, I now live a little north of Auckland in Snells Beach area and will be needing to find places closer to Auckland to stay while I am required to be at school a few days per week in the first year. I am a Canadian-born Kiwi (Caniwi) who’s lived mostly in and around Auckland for over 20 years. Since I moved to Snells a few years ago, I have house and pet-sat for several friends in the city so have a few solid references should you need. I also fostered and nursed many cats and kittens for the SPCA while I had the space in my previous dwelling.
I’ve nurtured three beautiful children, now young adults and moved out, and several pets over the years including cats, chickens, guinea pigs, mice, frogs, fish, and bees. I’m also a keen gardener and have no qualms about whispering sweet nothings to your beloved plants, or knowing what types need more water than others. While I adore most dogs, I am more fluent in Cat or Chook, but very happy to be out walking & playing with well behaved pooches, or providing gentle assistance and care to older mellow sweethearts. I also work 2 days/week mostly from home and will likely be out for the majority of the day approx. 3 days out of 7, but always home in the evenings.
I take the responsibility of someone else’s home and beloved pets VERY seriously and operate from a place of utmost respect and care – it’s in my Canadian (and Motherhood) DNA. I am super grateful for any trust placed in me, and for helping me navigate my year ahead. I aim to either leave no trace, or leave it better, and to be as minimal a burden on a homeowner as possible.
