Freshly returned from an extended musical holiday in Tasmania, I’m back in NZ and looking to continue my beautiful relationship with the folks on NZHousesitters!
Hey there I’m Tony, a young 50 Kiwi bloke who’s been fortunate enough to have lived widely across NZ in a range of colourful roles and lifestyles.
Raised in South Canterbury, I lived on a sheepfarm in my teens. Onto Otago Uni (who could forget), then into NZ Police between 1992 and 2005. I was stationed at Taumarunui, Picton, and Hokitika.
After making protein at Westland Milk Products for four years, in 2009 my ex-wife and I established and operated Curly Tree Whitebait Company for 10 years in rugged, remote South Westland. We lived and operated off the grid, and basically lived an incredible lifestyle raising our two boys and running our small business.
During that time we had a collection of animals including an amazing border collie cross called Mick, a kunikuni (Roger!), two goats (Rex and Eva), and a gaggle of chooks half of which were battery rescues. I remember it was quite amazing watching those chooks transform.
Living in Rotorua for several years, I did a 3 year stint as duty manager in hospo, then worked in MIQ as a Wellbeing Navigator, then I was re-employed as a support worker on the Mental Health ward at TeWhatu Ora Rotorua hospital.
Since Late 2023 I have been on a performance and songwriting journey in beautiful Tasmania.
My interests include music (regular performance pubs etc), cooking, sports (provincial rep rugby and cricket 1993-2008), fishing and diving. I must admit I am not much of a Greenfinger but I have the basics 🙂
I have my own car, drivers licenses, and my own home. I will look after yours while you can’t.
I am genuine, capable, friendly, and confident I will do an excellent job looking after your home and pets while you’re away.

Tony was an amazing house sitter, the cats and house were well looked after.

He cleaned the windows, mowed the lawns and kept us up dated on how things were going.
He took our eldery neighbour’s wheelie bins in for her ( she was rapt) I would definitely use Tony again and do highly recommend him as a house sitter.
