Description
We need responsible, reliable, person/s to house-sit and care for our 3 hens and rural property. Our dates are flexible, but need to be from late November 2024 till late January 2025.
We have a very comfortable home on a 4 acre lifestyle block, with fabulous views of the Tararua and Ruahine Ranges. We are 40 minutes from Palmerston North, 12 minutes from Woodville and 5 minutes from Pahiatua. It is very quiet and peaceful.
We are clean and tidy living non-smokers, and require sitter/s who will maintain our home and grounds in this condition.
We are on tank water, and have a wood fire for home heating, and a heat pump if needed. Plenty of wood in the shed. Our home has 3 bedrooms, 2 living areas, 2 toilets, conservatory.
There is ample room and easy access for anyone with a camper, bus, or caravan to safely park.
Responsibilities would include checking feed and water for the hens, collecting eggs which you of course can eat, and general care of our home, lawns and gardens. The hens can be left unattended for a few days if you want to go away exploring the area for a day or two.
We are close to many tramping tracks/walks, various rivers with good fishing, 40 minutes to Mt Bruce/Pukaha and 1 hour to east coast beaches. Your own vehicle would be required.
Our main requirement is someone to provide security for our home, and care for the hens.
We can provide references from previous house sitters; also from owners of homes we have house sat for.
