Description
We are looking for responsible animal and plant/garden lovers (couple or family with teenage kids), to house and pet sit for two weeks over Christmas.
We have a 5,000 m2 section, including two small paddocks for our two alpacas (who are very easy to care for), and gardens which are still maturing and may need a bit of watering a couple of times a week. There is a small tropical garden which requires daily watering.
You must be cat lovers; we have four cats who leave lots of fur sprinkles around the place, and if you’re unlucky you might get a wildlife gift from them (not often, but occasional). They get fed twice a day.
We have a Leonberger dog though she is booked into kennels for the duration of our holiday.
It is preferable to have house sitters who can water our indoor plants, and mow the lawns with the ride-on (if needed).
Our house is down a long driveway, away from the road and pretty quiet, but can easily access the Waikato Expressway, Hamilton city and local supermarkets.
The Te Awa bike trail, a 65km scenic cycling and walking trail passes by our driveway providing easy access to the Hamilton Gardens, local cafes, and Cambridge.
We have a 4m x 12m saltwater pool that is self-sufficient, and excellent outdoor living facilities such as portico, outdoor fire, large entertaining deck, outdoor sound system, lawn games etc.
The house has smart home automation (Control4) which performs a lot of heating/cooling, automatic lights etc which can be a bit different if you’re not used to it. A little bit of tech savviness would be useful in this regard, but not essential. It might just surprise you when the telly turns on automatically, or the lights go out at a particular time and you don’t understand why.
We also have a home cinema and (small) gym that you’re welcome to use.
