Hi there
We are going away and have decided to try our luck finding a house and pet sitter instead of locking up and sending the dog to the farm for 2 months. Happy to be flexible for shorter term (1 month) if whoever stays can take our dog to the farm for the remainder period (we will pay for your trip to Riverhead).
Our house is in a quiet driveway, close to mall, shops, a little cafe, bus stops, bush walks, reserves and a short drive to a bay or two, and the beach. The house is surrounded by garden but don’t worry – maintenance will not be needed. We would appreciate though if you could water the plants if there isn’t enough rain or summer decides to come for real this time.
Our dog is a rescue dog and we have invested a lot of love and time to get her more comfortable and more confident with herself. She is now 5 but still has the energy of a puppy when it comes to playing fetch or frisbee. If you like running, she would love to come to bush runs with you! She won’t enjoy visits to cafes or busy places though.
She likes to chase cats, rabbits, chickens and birds (at the beach) so we will provide you with some suggestions of places you can go to exercise and not have to worry too much about who is around! She will come back eventually (very proud of herself) and we never had any incidents. At home, the top garden is fenced so you can have peace of mind.
We both work from home a lot so she is used to having someone around all the time. However, she is ok with half-days or so by herself. The same way that she loves to play out and about, she loves to cuddle up on her bed and sleep. What she loves the most is food. If you want anything from her, offer her a treat. She will do her entire repertoire in a second!
