Description
We have a large new home with a big section. We are in the West Melton township which has all necessary conveniences, and we are only a 5 minute drive to Rolleston for further shops and facilities, and a 20 minute drive to central Christchurch. We have a large, energetic dog (a 2 year old German Wirehaired Pointer) who will need his daily run in the forest or at the riverbed (a 5 minute drive away) and lots of cuddles! He is the most adorable, soppy sook of a dog who loves his people and will thrive on your attention. He’s well behaved and doesn’t bark. He sleeps in a kennel at night, and stays in the kennel when we leave the house during the day. He’s a devoted, loyal, happy goof ball of a dog and is a real family guy. We also have two super smoochy cats that do their own thing but always come in for cuddles and will make themselves comfy on the nearest couch/bed, as long as there’s a warm person in it.
We are looking to find someone/a couple to live full time in our house over New Year while we are travelling to Stewart Island and Te Anau. We need someone who will live in our home full time and treat the home (and our pets) as their own while we are away. We’d need someone who will be home all of the time and is not planning on being away from the home over New Year, or who will be out during the day for extended periods (a few hours is fine, but not all day, every day). The ideal person/s would be retirees or someone/couple who works from home and can provide consistent company and care for our pets, or who would like to use our awesome West Melton location as their own wee holiday. Ideally someone active who enjoys walking, as our dog needs daily walks/runs down at the Waimak river. Someone comfortable and experienced in handling large friendly dogs who run off-lead is a must. This house/pet sit would suit someone looking for a home away from home for a holiday to rest and relax, enjoy the sunshine and the rural setting of West Melton, with space and fresh air and lots of outdoor walking opportunities. Ideally, if you were nearby before 27th Dec, we would meet first, and also take you for a walk to two with our dog so you know what behaviour to expect from him while out on the trails.
