Description
We’re a family of 4 (soon to be 5!) and like to go away for a few short trips a year.
Our family of 2 cats, 2 dogs, 2 pigs and currently 9 chickens, makes it a bit tough to feel comfortable to go away, while putting the burden of animal care on our close friends and family.
We would love to build a relationship with a housesitter or two that we come to know and trust.
We have a 120sqm house at the top of a hill, with some wind, but also beautiful views!
We’re quite inland, but there are still lots of beautiful beaches between 35 and 50 minutes away, if you enjoy a day at the beach.
Our house is nearly half-way between Whangarei and Kerikeri, so you have access to the north and south of Northland and there’s a local co-op 10 minutes away, on the highway, that you may like to visit!
Our neighbours are all friendly and some are close friends and family, so they’d be close by should you need anything while we’re away.
Our chickens free range and get on well with the pigs, cats and dogs, we’ve been very lucky! The pigs have an enclosure, but we like to give them some time to roam around our property each day.
Our dogs are both energetic girls, Rye (3yo) is a bearded collie crossed with a farm dog of some type (we aren’t sure), she can be a handful, but has a very lovely nature and will play fetch as long as you’ll let her. Patch (4yo) is a foxy/whippet cross, she is very sweet, but also very anxious so can take a little to warm up and will bark when she first meets you.
Our cats are Milo (11yo) and Apple (4 yo), they are both lovely cats who may or may not warm to new people, but are easy to care for, as long as they have food and water (and may like to sleep on your bed).
